Employee members of TSD Facility Emergency Response Organizations <br /> shall be trained to a level of competence in the recognition of safety and <br /> health hazards to protect themselves and other employees. This would include <br /> training in the: <br /> (1) Methods used to minimize the risk from safety and health <br /> hazards. <br /> (2) Safe use of control equipment. <br /> • (3) Selection and use of appropriate personnel protective equipment. <br /> (4) Techniques of coordination with other employees to minimize <br /> risks. <br /> (5) Appropriate response to over exposure from health hazards or <br /> injury to themselves and other employees. <br /> (6) Recognition of subsequent symptoms which may result from over <br /> exposures. <br /> 3. For each job title related to hazardous waste management, the <br /> introductory and continuing training may be found in Table 1. These training <br /> programs are designed as follows: <br /> a. An inventory of hazardous materials/waste was taken at each work <br /> site. <br /> b. A list, by job description, was composed to identify those tasks <br /> which required the handling of hazardous materials/waste at each work site. <br /> c. A list of employees working with these job descriptions was <br /> generated. <br /> d. A site specific training program was developed and provided so as to <br /> • meet mission requirements. <br /> IX-5 <br />
