Sampling Equipment <br /> Sampling equipment will be decontaminated before and after its use Sampling equipment <br /> includes stainless steel split-spoons for soil samples and Teflon bailers for ground-water samples <br /> ' Laboratory-supplied sample containers are assumed to be provided clean and will not require <br /> decontamination Liquinox solution and distilled water will be used for sample equipment <br /> ' decontamination The following procedures will be used for sampling equipment decontamination <br /> ' Split-Spoon Samplers Scrub the split-spoon sampler and brass liners in a bucket using a stiff brush <br /> and Liqutnox solution with potable water Triple rinse the spoons and liners with distilled water and <br /> ' allow to air dry Reassemble spoon and place equipment in clean area on plastic or aluminum foil <br /> ' Bailers Disassemble top and bottom check valve assemblies Scrub all parts in a bucket using a stiff <br /> brush and Liquinox solution with potable water Triple rinse all parts with distilled water and allow <br /> to air dry Reassemble bailer and, if it is not to be reused immediately, seal in plastic bag and label <br /> with date of decontamination <br /> Waste water from decontamination will be containerized in 55-gallon drums provided by the <br /> ' subcontractor, and disposed of accordingly by the contractor <br /> ' Personnel and Protective Equipment <br /> Personnel working in the field are required to follow specific procedures for decontamination <br /> ' prior to leaving the site so that contamination is not spread off site Personnel decontamination <br /> procedures are for Level D or Level C protective clothing and equipment, as specified in the Health <br /> and Safety Plan found in Appendix A Personnel decontamination procedures are as follows <br /> ' • Wash neoprene boots (or disposable booties) with Liquinox solution and rinse <br /> with clean water Remove booties and retain boots for subsequent reuse <br /> ' Disposable booties will be containerized for disposal in plastic bags <br /> • Wash outer gloves in Liquinox solution and rinse in clean water Remove <br /> ' outer gloves and place into plastic bag for disposal <br /> SAMPLAN 162 <br /> 04"162UTATRI-05106!92 22 <br />
