TO/T-1, TO/T-5, TONT-8, TONT-12, TO/R-1 through TO/R-6, and TO/MW-1, but no
measureable product thickness was reported in any of the wells(EMCON, 1993).
1993-1994: EMCON advanced soil borings TO/CB93-1, TO/CB93-2, and TO/CPT93-1
in November and December 1993 to depths of approximately 45, 56, and 81 feet bgs,
respectively (EMCON, 1994). EMCON installed wells TO/WC-1C, TO/WC-2B, and
TO/WC-2D in February and March 1994 using 2-inch diameter PVC well casing and
screens. TO/WC-2B was advanced in the B Zone to about 35 feet bgs and screened from
30 to 34 feet bgs, TO/WC-1C was advanced in the C Zone to approximately 52 feet bgs
and screened from 41 to 51 feet bgs, and well TO/WC-2D was advanced in the D Zone to
about 90 feet bgs and screened from 80 to 90 feet bgs. Soil samples were not collected
from any of the borings.
2010-2011: Stantec properly abandoned A Zone wells TONT-1 through TO/T-5, TONT-8,
TONT-11, TONT-12, TONT-14, TO/R-1, and TO/R-4 in December 2010 (Stantec, 2011).
Replacement A Zone well TONT-2R was installed in December 2010 using 2-inch
diameter PVC well casing and screen. The well boring was advanced to approximately
14 feet bgs and screened from 4 to 14 feet bgs. Stantec properly abandoned A Zone wells
TO/R-2, TO/R-3, TO/R-5, and TO/R-6 in May 2011 and installed replacements wells
TO/R-2R, TO/R-3R, TO/R-5R, TO/R-6R, TO/T-3R, and TONT-5R using 2-inch diameter
PVC well casing and screens. The well borings were advanced to approximately 14 feet
bgs and screened from 4 to 14 feet bgs. Stantec installed A Zone wells TO/MW-2 and
TO/MW-3 in July 2011 using 2-inch diameter PVC well casing and screens. The well
borings were advanced to approximately 14 feet bgs and screened from 4 to 14 feet bgs.
Discrete soil samples were not collected from any of the borings. A composite soil
sample was collected from the well decommissioning/well installation soil cuttings for
profiling of the drummed soil for offsite disposal.
2.5 Summary of Site Assessment Data
A summary of soil and groundwater assessment data for the former Time Oil terminal is
provided below. The groundwater summary includes data from the most recent quarterly
monitoring event completed for the site February 2012.
2.5.1 Soil Assessment Data
Soil samples were collected from borings TO/CB-1 and TO/CB-2 at approximately 5 feet
bgs in 1992, and analyzed for gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH-g), diesel
range petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH-d), and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes
(BTEX). TPH-g (47 milligrams per kilogram [mg/kg] and 1,100 mg/kg), TPH-d
(5 mg/kg and 430 mg/kg), ethylbenzene (0.4 mg/kg and 22 mg/kg), and xylenes
(0.9 mg/kg and 79 mg/kg) were reported in the soil samples collected from borings
TO/CB-1 and TO/CB-2, respectively. Benzene (0.06 mg/kg)was also reported in the soil
sample collected from TO/CB-1. No other discrete soil sample data appear to have been
collected at the site.
Site Characterization Work Plan,Final, May I8,2012
1007-012.002 2-8
