the SWRCB Clean up Fund Letter of Committment, you'must make application to <br /> the State of California Water Resources Control Board's (SWRCB) "Petroleum <br /> L Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund" (Fund). An application package for the <br /> Fund has been provided. <br /> The Fund was created pursuant to Chapter 6.75 of the California Health and <br /> Safety Code to help eligible owners and operators of petroleum underground <br /> storage tanks to: <br /> 1. Most federal requirements to demonstrate financial responsibility; <br /> 2. Obtain reimbursement for costs of the cleanup of unauthorized <br /> releases of petroleum from USTol and <br /> l 3. obtain reimbursement for damages awarded to third parties who are <br /> Linjured by petroleum releases. <br /> The maximum amount available from the Fund is $990,000 per occurrence. <br /> Claimants are responsible for the first $10,000 of eligible costs. <br /> Applications must be submitted to the SUR= Clean Up Fund by March 31, 1994 to <br /> undergo eligibility rankinq for funding in the 1994-95 state fiscal budget <br /> year. All subsurface investigations and remedial actions must be performed <br /> under a workplan approved by PHS/EHD. <br /> The Fund does not cover the costs incurred for the removal, repair, retrofit, <br /> or installation of USTs.
