VIL BARBER P.E. 8, ASSOCIATES <br /> 623 Camellia Way Lodi CA 95242 <br /> phonel fax(209)359-0482 <br /> ' 10/11/2000 <br /> Mr Jeffery Wong <br /> ' San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> 304 E Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Subject ADDENDUM TO WORK PLAN FOR A PHASE II FIELD INVESTIGATION WESTERN OIL <br /> ' AND SPREADING, 19256 N HIGHWAY 99,ACAMPO,CA <br /> Dear Mr Wong <br /> ' Enclosed is D K BARBER P E and ASSOCIATES', addendum to two earlier proposed work plans for <br /> the subject site I understand that the earlier plans by Gallardo & Associates (Windsor, CA) and <br /> Kleinfelder (Fairfield, CA)were submitted to you in December 1998 and July 2000 respectively <br /> ' A meeting between Western Oil & Spreading Inc's, representative, Jeff Hopkins, San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Division (EHD) staff and me was held on September 19, 2000 The meeting's <br /> results were memorialized in your letter of September 22, 2000, copy attached <br /> ' Modifications to the Kleinfelder proposal include, <br /> A Monitoring Well, 2 IN x 60 FT +1-will be installed, developed, purged and sampled over the <br /> next year on a quarterty basis The monitoring well casing will be 2 IN schedule 40 PVC pipe <br /> with screening similar to Kleinfelder's proposal, in a bored hole, 6 IN to 8 IN diameter <br /> A minimum of 3 additional bonngs utilizing direct push technology (DPT) will be used to define <br /> the lateral extent of soil contamination Additional bonngs may be employed while on site, if <br /> warranted <br /> A boring, anticipated to be down gradient, will extend approximately 50 FT below surface grade <br /> (bsg) to collect a groundwater sample In the event the "shallow aquifer' at 30 FT bgs is <br /> encountered an additional DPT boring may be optioned further down gradient to avoid potential <br /> cross-contamination <br /> D K Barber P E and Associates will forward drilling permit applications for submittal to your agency <br /> along with required fees and necessary signatures by the drilling contractor I understand that EHD may <br /> t require several weeks to issue permits I have tentatively scheduled drilling, for the second week of <br /> November 2000 Site personnel will review the site's health and safety plan and USA underground will <br /> be contacted to screen the boring area 48 hours pnor to work commencement <br /> ' Analysis of soil and water will be performed by Sequoia Analytical,a California DOHS certified laboratory <br /> This letter is an addendum to the mentioned Kleinfelder proposal, if additional clarification is required <br /> ' please contact me at your earliest convenience at(209)369-0482 <br /> Daniel K Barber, RCE 21210 <br /> Principal <br /> �� cc w/o attach J Hopkins, Western Oil&Spreading <br />
