groundwater San Joaquin County EHS Permit SR# 0024615 <br /> tSoil samples were collected at 5 FT intervals during the boring process A total of 56 soil <br /> samples were field classified Volatile hydrocarbons were measured from a "baggie" <br /> portion measured with a Photo Ionization Device (PID) Sod samples to be tested were <br /> contained in 1 125 IN diameter by 6 IN long brass sampling sleeves from the drill rod All <br /> sleeved samples were capped, labeled and chilled Samples were transported to and <br /> ' analyzed by Sequoia Analytical-Sacramento, a DOHS Certified analytical laboratory The <br /> 25 samples selected by the EHS representative were analyzed for BTEX and other <br /> ' petroleum products Borings C-6 and C-7 supplemented C-4 and C-5, respectively, to <br /> collect fresh samples after it was discovered that holding times had been exceeded for <br /> their earlier collected soil Costs of the two repeated borings were borne by Barber <br /> Additionally as borings contacted water a groundwater sample was collected for analysis <br /> Pushed boreholes were backfilled with Portland cement/bentonite grout and were <br /> inspected by the EHS representative <br /> 1.2 2 Monitoring Well Construction <br /> Woodward Drilling Company, of Rio Vista, CA , a Licensed C-57 drilling contractor using <br /> ' an eight inch hollow stem flight auger truck mounted drilling rig drilled to 62 FT and <br /> installed a two inch PVC monitoring well, MW-1 San Joaquin County EHS Permit <br /> ' SR0024759 <br /> The bottom of the 2 IN PVC casing was plugged, above this was 20 FT of 0 20 slotted <br /> pipe and the balance was solid 2 IN PVC The annular area between the PVC casing and <br /> the 8 IN hole limit was filled (packed) with washed and graded No 3 sand to 2 FT above <br /> the perforated section After placing a 2 FT thick bentonite seal on top of the sand, <br /> Portland cement/bentonite grout was tremied into the annular area, upwards to near the <br /> ' surface A 6 IN metal casing and flush mounted cover were installed at ground level <br /> enclosing a lockable expansive plug Reference Figure 8, "Monitoring Well(s) Permits <br /> and Drilling Records" <br /> The monitoring well was purged and developed with sampling of groundwater on <br /> December 21, 2000 Reference Figure 9, "Well Development Record" The well installation <br /> ' 1-3 <br />
