was inspected by the EHS representative Water samples were collected from encountered <br /> groundwater at about 50 FT bgs No water was found in a"perched zone" at about 25 FT bgs , <br /> ' as earlier anticipated Groundwater was analyzed for hydrocarbon contamination MTBE and <br /> other oxygenates were not tested as earlier findings were non-detect and the source of the <br /> ' suspect petroleum hydrocarbon was not a recently formulated motor fuel It was agreed <br /> contamination did not occur within recent years and there was no need to further test for the <br /> oxygenates <br /> The semi-permanent monitoring well is expected to be monitored quarterly for one year or <br /> ' the hydrological cycle <br /> ' Additionally, as the monitoring well was constructed, 11 sod samples were collected using <br /> a split spoon sampler and field classified as the monitoring well was advanced Soil <br /> samples to be tested were contained in 2 IN diameter by 6 IN long stainless steel <br /> sampling sleeves driven through the hollow stem flight auger at requested depths All <br /> sleeved samples were capped, labeled and chilled Samples were transported to <br /> Sequoia Analytical for testing of 5 specific soil samples identified by the EHS <br /> representative <br /> The depth to standing water at two close-by offsite irrigation wells and one onsite well <br /> ' were measured on December 12, 2000, March 30 and April 29, 2001 to establish <br /> groundwater gradient and flow direction Relative elevations considering the MWA, top <br /> cover plate's rim elevation as 100 00 FT were used to establish gradient and direction of <br /> groundwater <br /> ' 1.3 Site Contamination Findings Update <br /> ' The Appendix E, "LIMITED SOIL AND GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION REPORT for <br /> 19256 N HIGHWAY 99, ACAMPO, CALIFORNIA" reflecting findings and the deductions <br /> ' of Rafael L Gallardo, R G No 6834 was completed May 24, 1999 Information found in <br /> the report provided a limited definition of the petroleum hydrocarbon contamination Sod <br /> with pollutant levels up to 30,000 mg/kg of diesel range and 18,000 mg/kg of kerosene <br /> range petroleum hydrocarbon product were reported in the vicinity of the former 20,000 <br /> ' 1-4 <br />
