Selection of proper excavation equipment, adequate secunty and ready egress from the <br /> ' excavation are the responsibility of the excavation contractor and shall always comply <br /> with California General Safety Orders CCR Title 8, Div 1, Chap 4 Hydrocarbon <br /> ' contaminated material (indicated by olfactory and visual senses) will be removed and <br /> stockpiled <br /> 31.3 Confirmation testing will utilize a California Department of Toxic Substances <br /> ' Control certified laboratory The laboratory of choice is Sequoia Analytical, Inc <br /> Sacramento, CA branch office <br /> 1 <br /> Discrete samples will be used for confirmation purposes \ <br /> Discrete samples representing 50 cubic yard samples will be used for quantities <br /> ' less than 200 cubic yards Samples representing 200-400 cubic yards will be used for <br /> quantities between 200 and 1000 cubic yards N <br /> Composite samples representing each 1000 cubic yards may be used to represent <br /> ' quantities over 1000 cubic yards <br /> ' Composite samples will be allowed for general representation of cleanup or <br /> ' representation of materials to be rehandled in blending or washing operations <br /> 31 4 The soil is expected to be contaminated with diesel and diesel/asphalt mixtures <br /> ' Gasoline Fuel and coincidental BTEX levels are not expected to be significant Diesel <br /> contaminated material will be stockpiled adjacent to the excavation zone at the site on the <br /> ' asphalt sealed surface The ideal depth to bio-remediate sand to clayey silt and sandy <br /> ' 3-2 . <br /> 1 <br />
