• December 31, 1996
Mr. Ken Gillies -
Gillies Trucking
P. O. Box 8303 U
Stockton, CA 95208
Subject: Transmittal of Monitoring Report
Gillies Trucking Yard
3931 Newton Road
Stockton,CA
Dear Mr. Gillies:
Upgradient Environmental Consultants has now completed all work assigned to
proposal 96008 for 1996, and the enclosed report presents the results of our recent
groundwater sampling on December 11. We will forward copies directly to the regulatory
agencies for their review.
Based on the results of this year's investigations and verbal communications from
Steve Sasson, we anticipate that you will be asked to continue to monitor the groundwater
quality at the site through 1997. You may also be requested to submit proposals and/or
• cost estimates for one or more potential methods of cleaning up the soil and/or
groundwater beneath the site, but due to changing State budgets and regulatory policies,
the regulatory agencies may decide to leave the contamination in place rather than request
cleanup. I do not expect a decision regarding cleanup before mid-1997.
I suggest that we meet with you in late January or February, after we have
received the next written communication from the Environmental Health Division. The
purpose of the meeting would be to formulate a plan to respond to any requests that EHD
makes regarding further work.
When we monitored her well on December 11, Mrs. Barbot told us that additional
work needs to be done along the property line before she will grant us access to her
property again, so it may be necessary for you to contact her and get that problem
corrected.
•
