MANTECA ary 08, 2016 <br /> SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS <br /> (CLASS I,CLASS II,or MINOR-Notice to Comply) <br /> Item# Remarks <br /> CCR 66261.7(f) Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or managed within one year of being <br /> emptied. <br /> One 55-gallon empty container, which appears to have previously held oily waste, was observed in the hazardous: <br /> waste storage area. Mr. Keating indicated that it will be used for the storage of hazardous waste when facility runs <br /> out of the storage for their waste oil(according to Mr. Keating indicated that this container is being used every 3 <br /> month or so) . Containers larger than five gallons that previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with <br /> the date they were emptied and managed within one year of being emptied. Immediately mark and manage all <br /> empty containers per this section. Submit proof of correction to the EHD. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 01 CCR 66262.34(d) Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br /> The following wastes appear to have been on site in excess of 180 days. <br /> 1) Two (open and unlabeled) 5 gallon containers (with oil and water mixture)were observed in the machine shop <br /> area. Mr. Keating indicated that these containers should have been emptied into their hazardous waste storage <br /> container. <br /> 2)Two 55-gallon containers of waste oil either had no accumulation start date or the accumulation start date was m <br /> excess of 180 days (dated 10-16-2013). <br /> 3) One 30-40 gallon container of waste absorbent had no accumulation start date. <br /> 4) Metal fines generated during metal grinding were observed on and around the metal grinding equipment located <br /> in the machine shop area. Mr. Keating indicated that these metal fines haven't been disposed of and that this metal <br /> fines accumulation has been on the equipment for some time. Mr. Keating also indicated that they will be handlingg, <br /> these metal fines as hazardous waste. <br /> Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste <br /> stored on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days.
