The hydrocarbons are recovered through a
hydrophobic membrane that allows only hydrocarbons to pass through it and be recovered. The
skimmers are suspended in the wells with a line that is attached to the well caps. The well boxes
are secured in the normal fashion to prevent tampering or vandalism of the wells. A technician will
empty the skimmers on a weekly basis. The recovered hydrocarbons will be stored on site in a
secondarily contained 55 gallon drum. The drum will be kept within the fenced enclosure currently
at the site.
The skimmers will be ordered this week and should be installed in the wells during the second
week of December. Performance of the skimmers will be reported in quarterly reports.
If you have any questions regarding the installation or use of the skimmers, please contact me at
the above number.
Sincerely,
LIZ ri-'---
Douglas Oran
Project Engineer
cc: Marla D.
