FROM Ground 2e^o Rnalysis PHONE NO. : 209 952 9892 Sep. 30 1996 O4:?9PN PS
I Wu
Roy's Towing
Page 4
Soil samples will be collected at depths of 1 foot and 5 feet below the drain linelleach line at
the locations identified on Figure 2 as "F" and "G".
A soil boring will be drilled with a hollow stem auger drill rig beside the leach field seep pit as
shown on Figure 2 (location "H"). Samples from the depths of 25, 30 and 40 feet will be
submitted for laboratory analysis.
Sampling locations "I", "7" and "K" arcs randomly placed throughout the uninvestigated portion
of the property. Samples at these locations will be collected at depths of 1 foot and 5 feet.
SamDlc Collection Methadoloev
The samples to be collected from beneath the sump (location E) will be obtained with a hand
auger and drive sampler attachment. Soil samples from all outdoor locations except for location
"H" will be collected using a backhoe to open small trenches to a depth of 5 feet. Brass soil
tubes will be driven into the sides or floor of the trenches at depths of I foot and 5 feet in order
to collect the samples. Should any of the proposed sampling locations be inaccessible to the
backhoe, a hand auger/drive sampler will be used,
The soil boring to be.advanced next to the seepage pit will be drilled using a hollow stem auger
rig. Soil samples will be collected at five foot intervals for classification and field screening
purposes. Three samples will be submitted for laboratory analysis. Inasmuch as the seepage
pit is 25 feet deep, it is expected that the samples submitted for analysis will be from the depths
of 25, 30 and 40 feet.
Laboratory_AWy is
Selected soil samples will be submitted to a State-certified laboratory for analysis. All samples
from the sump/leachline investigation (locations E, F and G), the 1-foot-bgs sail samples from
other locations and the samples collected from the drilled boring (location H) at 25, 30, and 40
feet bgs will be analyzed for TRPH using EPA method 418.1 and total lead using EPA method
6010. If total lead is detected at concentrations between 50 and 1000 parts per million, soluble
(STLC) lead will be analyzed. The samples collected from the sump/leachfield area will also
be analyzed for halogenated volatile organics (HVOCs) using EPA method 8010.
If significant contamination is detected in the 1-foot sample from a particular location, the 4.5-
foot sample from that location will also be analyzed.
e+am•r
