WORKPLAN
MONITORING WELL CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT IN STOCKTON, CA
AT SANGUINETTI LANE AND STADIUM DRIVE
LOCATION
One monitoring well will be constructed at the location shown on the attached maps, near
the intersection of Sanguinetti Lane and Stadium Drive in Stockton, California.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this well is to obtain a sample of the first encountered groundwater at the
subject property. This property is located approximately 1700 feet northeast of a federal
Superfund site, known as Kearney-KPF. Groundwater at Kearney-KPF is known to contain
detectable levels of 1,1,1-TCA, 1,1-DCE, TCE, PCE, 1,1-DCA, and 1,2-DCE. The
groundwater gradient at Kearney-KPF has been found to vary from northeast (toward
Sanguinetti Lane) to northwest. Although it is highly unlikely that contaminants from
Kearney-KPF would have migrated to the Sanguinetti Lane property, a monitoring well is
being constructed there in order to confirm that shallow groundwater at the Sanguinetti
Lane property is not impacted.
METHODS
A well will be constru to the following specifications:
1. Drill with a hollow stem auger to 10 feet below first encountered groundwater.
Groundwater has been found in nearby wells at 70 feet, although we do not have on-
site groundwater depth data. The exact location will be determined by ARI
personnel in the field.
} ----- 2. Install 10 feet of 2" schedule 40 PVC, 0.02" slotted casing, and bottom cap.
y k 3. Install a sand pack, consisting of Lone Star 2-16 sand orequivalent, and extending
5 feet above the top of the slotted casing.
4. Install 2" schedule 40 PVC flush-threaded blank casing to grade.
5. Install a 2 foot bentonite seal, immediately above the sand pack.
6. Grout the remainder of the annulus with cement with 2-5% bentonite.
7. Complete monitoring well installation 3 feet above grade with a locking
"stovepipe", or at grade with a Cristy Box and locking well cap.
