1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Cape Environmental Management, Inc (CEMI) has prepared the following Subsurface <br /> Investigation Report for the Federal Building, located at 401 North San Joaquin Street, <br /> Stockton, California The objective of the subsurface investigation is to determine if fuel <br /> oil from the underground storage tanks (US'Ds) has leaked and impacted the subject site <br /> soils <br /> This report includes the results of subsurface soil sampling and will assist in preparing <br /> for removal of two (2) 5,000 gallon underground storage tanks (UST's) Figure 1 is a <br /> Site Plan and Figure 2 is a Site Detail indicating boring locations <br /> 11 Background <br /> Available site background information was limited to a single engineering drawing <br /> depicting the approximate location of two 5,000-gallon underground heating fuel storage <br /> i <br /> tanks and appurtenant piping The available engineering drawing, obtained from the San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Services-Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD), <br /> titled Oil Storage Tank Heating Transfer Conversion and dated "microfilmed 1972," depicts <br /> the locations, orientation, and dimensions of the UST's and piping in relation to the Post <br /> Office building The drawing is of poor quality and largely illegible, in particular with <br /> K084023 RPT 1 <br />
