• CAMBRIA <br /> 3.0 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The subject property is a Shell-branded service station located on the southwest corner of <br /> North Pershing Avenue and Rose Marie Lane in Stockton, California (Figure 1) The subject <br /> site has been operated as a Shell service station since 1964 The site is rectangular in shape <br /> and occupies approximately 12,000 square feet The site is identified by Assessor's Parcel <br /> Number (APN) 110-180-07 The City of Stockton has zoned the subject property as general <br /> business (C2) The adjacent properties to the north and east are zoned commercial (Cl) <br /> 40 SITE RECONNAISSANCE <br /> A reconnaissance of the site and a cursory visual inspection of adjacent properties were <br /> performed on March 7, 2000 The subject property is currently a Shell-branded service <br /> station The site consists of a service station building, three 12,000-gallon gasoline <br /> underground storage tanks (USTs) and one 550-gallon double walled fiberglass underground <br /> waste oil tank and three product dispensers (Figure 2) <br /> • Directly north of the subject property is a 7-Eleven food store/service station To the <br /> northeast of the site is a small commercial shopping center To the east is a vacant lot that <br /> used to be occupied by an Exxon service station Currently the Exxon site contains <br /> monitoring wells and a groundwater extraction system To the south is a small retail <br /> shopping center <br /> Photographs of the subject property and surrounding properties are included in Appendix A <br /> 5.0 PUBLIC AGENCY FILE REVIEW <br /> 5.1 San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> The SJCPHS was contacted to review the records pertaining to use, storage, and potential <br /> release of hazardous materials at the subject site The findings from the SJCPHS file review <br /> are summarized below <br /> 1987 Waste Oil Tank Removal: During 1987 a waste oil UST was removed from its location <br /> at the northern end of the service station building We were not able to locate a report <br /> documenting the removal of this UST, but SJCPHS did have field notes and analytical results <br /> in their files relating to this event The tank was a 550-gallon steel tank It was removed on <br /> . June 25, 1987 with a representative from SJCPHS present during removal Soil samples were <br /> collected and sent to a laboratory for chemical analysis The analysis included total <br /> 0837 3 <br />
