PROJECT LOCATION
The proposed biomass/waste oil recovery facility would be located
in San Joaquin County, southeast of the City of Stockton. Figure 2.1
shows the regional location and Figure 2.2 shows the project location.
Nearby roads include Austin Road which runs along the site's western
boundary and Mariposa Road which intersects Austin Road at the northwest-
ern corner of the project area. The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Rail-
road line parallels the northeastern boundary of the project area, as
shown in Figure 2.2. Access would be from Austin Road.
The project area consists of a proposed 56.9-acre parcel that has
been placed under option to acquire by the applicant, Falcon Energy Asso-
ciates. Sugar beets are currently grown on this nearly level site which
has an average elevation of 45 feet above mean sea level . Weber Slough
borders the southern boundary of the project area.
Approximately 19.8 acres of the southwest portion of the project
site would be used for the proposed biomass/waste oil recovery facili-
ties. The remaining 37.1 acres would be left undeveloped and could be
leased for continued crop production.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Site Plan and Physical Characteristics
The proposed site plan for the facility is shown in Figure 2.3.
The major areas include the following:
• Biomass storage;
i
• Processing equipment for biomass material ;
• Plant access roads, emergency road, and parking areas;
• Waste oil recovery tanks and equipment;
• Office, repair shop, and laboratory (*) ;
• Briquette/pellet storehouse (*) ;
• Plant substation and electrical building (*) ;
• Guardhouse and scalehouse (*) ;
2-2
I01-46.R4 4/1/89
