The height of the water column above the datalogger was measured at one
minute time intervals. The depth-to-groundwater was also measured in selected wells during the
pump test using a Solinst water level meter.
During the constant rate pumping test (3 gpm), the maximum ground water drawn-down in
extraction well VE-6 was observed to be approximately 1.0 feet after 300 minutes of pumping;
maximum draw-down was observed in wells T1 (Located 5 feet toward the east)at 2.7 feet after 700
minutes of pumping; draw-down was observed in well T2 (located l.5 feet toward the south)at 1.5
feet after 700 minutes, draw-down was observed in vapor well VW-1 (located 30 feet toward the
southeast) at 0.85 feet after 700 minutes of pumping and no measurable draw-down was observed
in well MW-3 (located 50 feet toward the west). Water level records arc in Appendix B.
Constant Rate Drawdown. Test- 29 March 01
During the constant rate drawdown pump test of 29 March the depth-bo-ground water was measured
in the test extraction well MW-4, monitoring well MW-1 and vapor extraction well VW-7,using a
Solinst water level meter.Solinst Levelogger pressure transducers were placed in MW-1,VW-7 and
MW-4. Monitoring well MW-4 is screened from 15 to 35 feet bsg; vapor well VW-7 is screened
from 5 to 1.5 feet bsg;monitoring well MW-1 is screened from 20 to 40 feet bsg and observation well
MW-7 is screened from 10 to 30 feet bsg. The height of the water column was measured by the
datalogger at one-minute time intervals.Pumping began at one gpm,after 120 minutes the pumping
rate was increased to approximately two gpm.Approximately 1,440 gallons of water were removed
from MW4 during the 12 hour test.
During the increased rate pumping test (2 gpm), the maximum ground water drawn.-down in
extraction well MW-4 was observed to be approximately 5.8 feet after 700 minutes of pumping;
maximum draw-down was observed in wells MW-7 (located 30 feel:toward the east) at 0.52 feet
after 700 minutes of pumping operation; draw-down was observed in well MW-1 (located 40 feet
toward the north) at 0.63 feet alter 700 minutes. Water level records are in Appendix C.
2.2. AQUIFER PUMPING ANALYSIS
The maximum, ground water draw-down in the observation wells for each pump test was plotted
against the distance of each well from the extraction point on semi-Logarithmic paper.Utilizing the
Distance-Drawdown Method (Jacob straight-line method), general. transmissivity, storativity and
hydraulic conductivity values were determined.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
