Webber Avenue, 3`d Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> Subject: Ground Water Monitoring-Natural Attenuation Work Plan <br /> CHAPIN BROTHERS INVESTMENTS,INC. <br /> 1766 Monte Diablo Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr. Henderson and Ms. Lagorio: <br /> At the request of Mr. Russell Chapin, Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. (AGE)has prepared the <br /> enclosed Work Plan for assessment of the natural attenuation process on-going at 1766 Monte <br /> Diablo Avenue, Stockton,California(the site). The work plan is prepared in response to the EHD <br /> letter dated 03 March 2005. <br /> The objective of this proposed monitoring is the following: 1) to assess the mass of remaining <br /> contaminants in ground water without the operation of the ground water extraction network; 2)to <br /> assess the flow and gradient of ground water without the operation of the ground water extraction <br /> network;3)monitor for the parameter which signal the natural attenuation of dissolved hydrocarbons <br /> and 4) the possible evaluation of the rate of the potential for the natural attenuation of dissolved <br /> hydrocarbons. <br /> The location of the site and its surroundings are illustrated in Figure 1.Structures,well locations and <br /> proposed boring locations are illustrated in Figure 2. Investigation activities will be performed in <br /> accordance with guidelines for investigation of underground storage tank(UST)sites established by <br /> the EHD and this work plan was prepared in accordance with Appendix A to Tri-Regional <br /> Recommendations-Reporting,dated 16 April 2004,prepared by the Central Valley Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)for the investigation ofunderground storage tanks(UST)sites. <br /> SOIL VAPOR/AIR-SPARGING REMEDIATION <br /> A soil vapor extraction (SVE)/in-situ air-sparging (IAS) system was installed and operated at the <br /> site from April 1996 to late June 1999 to remediate hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water. <br /> However,over the course of the SVE remedial action,rising ground water elevation had submerged <br /> 337 Shaw Road.Stockton,California 95215 <br /> Telephone(209)467-1006 Fax(209)467-1118 <br />
