Procedures for Discharge Discovery, Response and Cleanup (§112.7(a)(3)(iv) & (v) and <br />112.7(a)(5)): <br />Table G-5 Description of Discharge Countermeasures / Emergency Procedures <br />The following is a description of the immediate actions (countermeasures) for discharge discovery, response <br />and cleanup to be taken by facility personnel (and an outside contractor) in the event of a discharge to <br />navigable waters or adjoining shorelines [§112.7(a)(3)(iv) and 112.7(a)(5)]: <br />Table G-6 Disposal of Recovered Materials <br />The following is a description of the methods of disposal of recovered materials in accordance with applicable <br />legal requirements [§112.7(a)(3)(v)]: <br />Facility Name: <br />x <br />Upon discovery of a spill or leak, facility personnel will: <br />1) Immediately contact/notify terminal manager and/or safety personnel. <br />2) If the source or cause of the spill/discharge can be safely shut off, personnel will <br />immediately do so using the Emergency Shut Off switch adjacent to the tank. <br />3) Management/Safety team will determine if the spill/discharge poses a threat to health, <br />safety, property or the environment (including any spill entering a storm drain, off site <br />waterway or leaving the property) - and will immediately notify the CUPA, CA EMA and the <br />National Response Center. 9-1-1 will be called if necessary. <br />4) If the spill/discharge can be safely cleaned up by on-site personnel using available spill <br />supplied, they will do so in accordance with the facility's CERS (Consolidated Emergency <br />Response / Contingency Plan). <br />5) In all cases, if the spill/discharge may threaten a storm drain on site or threaten to leave <br />the property, employees will attempt to place sorbents in the spill path or around the drains <br />to block the spill, if it can be done safely. <br />6) The facility's hazardous waste contractor will be called to assist in clean up if necessary. <br />7) All collected spill residues will be properly disposed of as a hazardous waste. <br />x <br />The cleanup contractor will handle the disposal of any recovered product, contaminated soil, <br />contaminated materials and equipment, decontamination solutions, sorbents, and spent <br />chemicals collected during a response to a discharge incident. If onsite personnel is able <br />to safely clean up the spill/discharge, we will contact the cleanup contractor for disposal. <br />CALIFORNIA FREIGHT ACAMPO
