' EACTy
Ryder Fuel Services (Ryder -FS), on behalf of Ryder Truck Rental, Inc. (Ryder) is
forwarding this letter in response to the Notice of Violation issued by the County of San
Joaquin for the referenced facility. This notice identified issues requiring a response. The
issues are identified below along with Ryder's response and/or action plan:
#1 Violation text: A SS gallon drum of used absorbent was observed in the outside
storage area with a faded label on with only the words `hazardous waste' and
the contents were legible. Two 20 gallon drums of used antifreeze (according to
Mr. Shannon) were observed in the shop without labels. All hazardous waste
containers shall be marked with the following information:
1. the words "Hazardous Waste'
2. name and address of generator
3, hazardous properties
4. physical state
5. composition (contents)
6. accumulation start date
Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked
with all the required information. Facilities who generate 1000 kg or more of
hazardous waste per month or exceed 6000 kg of waste stored on site at any
time many only store waste on site up to 90 days. Since it cannot be determined
how long the 55 gallon drum of used absorbent and the two 20 gallon drums of
used antifreeze have been on site, immediately contact a licensed hazardous
waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and submit a copy of the
manifest to lite EHD.
16155 Park Row, Suite 140
Houston, Texas 77084
Tel (281)647-8900
Fax (281)579-0864
