A 55 gallon black steel drum of waste absorbent & grease was observed in the hazardous waste <br />storage area without a accumulation start date. All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the <br />following information: <br />1. the words "Hazardous Waste" <br />2. name and address of generator <br />3. hazardous properties (flammable, corrosive, reactive, toxic) <br />4. physical state (liquid, solid) <br />5. composition (contents) <br />6. accumulation start date <br />Immediately label this container and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required <br />information. Since it cannot be determined how long this waste has been on site, immediately contact a <br />licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and submit a copy of the <br />manifest to the EHD by February 9, 2012. <br />REPEAT VIOLATION <br />Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification to the EHD by February 9, 2012 <br />along with a statement documenting the corrective actions that have been or will be taken for each <br />violation and any supporting paperwork. <br />"Facility generated 30.22 tons of hazardous waste in 2011 and is being placed in a higher permit <br />category (25-50 tons/year). This may result in increased permit fees. <br />Note: The State Office of Emergency Services has changed its name to the California Emergency <br />Management Agency (CalEMA).
