There are frequently <br />noxious odors present. <br />Required Safety Equipment: <br />1. Safety Goggles <br />2. Steel toed shoes <br />3. Lumbar support for lifting <br />Union Status: <br />This facility is not covered by a collective bargaining agreement although other <br />similar facilities in other states may be. <br />Cognitive Skills Required: <br />1. Workers must be able to read and write English to follow written protocol for <br />safety. <br />2. Workers must be able to speak English. <br />3. Workers must be able to understand customers' verbal communication. <br />Recommendations Regarding Modification or Accommodation: <br />1. A person who is non-verbal could perform the essential functions. <br />2. A person who is hearing impaired could perform all essential functions except <br />testing the horn. In a larger shop, another worker could perform this function. <br />3. A person unable to tolerate climbing or heavier activities could be assigned to <br />only pumping gas or servicing smaller trucks in a larger facility where several <br />workers are available to perform these functions. <br />4. Washing trucks can be assigned to a worker on restricted duty. <br />5. A person with an upper extremity prosthesis could perform the essential <br />functions of this job with adaptations made on squeeze bottles and handles. <br />6. A person who is developmentally disabled could be assigned to cleaning the <br />inside and washing trucks. <br />
