Procedures for safe handlingof hazardous materials IV��-ET�1�. <br />R,YIj ^r-1eoT�flcINJT <br />The locations shop manager must provide the following training so employees are familiar with <br />the safe handling of hazardous materials: <br />Train employees on the safe handling of all on site hazardous materials and wastes listed <br />in your locations HMMP. <br />Inform the employees on the personnel protective equipment needs for handling each <br />HMMP listed hazardous material and waste. <br />Train each employee on the required emergency notification of a release listed HMMP <br />products on site <br />Go over the environmental and employee effects concerning each hazardous material <br />listed in the locations HMMP <br />Advise the employees of the location of the emergency spill response clean up materials <br />located on site, the location of fire extinguishers and routes of safe emergency <br />evacuation procedures from the property. <br />3. Procedures for communicating with emergency response agencies <br />The locations shop manager must provide the following training so employees are familiar with <br />the procedures when communicating with emergency response agencies: <br />Train all employees trained to immediately notify the locations Emergency Coordinator or <br />alternate emergency coordinator of a hazardous material release/emergency found on <br />the emergency spill telephone guide.. The Emergency Coordinator (Shop Manager) or <br />the locations alternate names and phone numbers are found next to telephones <br />throughout the facility on the Ryder Emergency Spill telephone guide. <br />Employees should also be advised of Ryder 24 hour emergency response contact for <br />large on site emergencies, XL Specialty Claims. Their phone number is also found on <br />Ryders Emergency Spill Telephone Guide. <br />Train all employees that if the Emergency coordinator or alternate is not on site, <br />employees are instructed to contact the facilities Environmental coordinator <br />(Maintenance Manager). The shop manager or maintenance manager are to assess <br />the situation and make the proper contacts to regulatory agencies. <br />If the emergency or environmental Coordinators for the facility cannot be advised of the <br />situation, then the employees are to trained and advised to call Ryder corporate at 305- <br />500-3619 immediately. <br />
