Every Ryder facility should have at least one Spill
Control Station on-site. Spill Control Station(s) must
be inspected monthly to make sure spill clean-up
materials are in full supply. Inspections must be
Iogged using the Monthly Facility Inspection Log,
Form No. ES -38. (see section of ES -38 below)
1 R.quv.tlMmrl.l.
Locations that have a Service Island should have one
spill kit at the Service Island AND one in the shop
area. You never know when or where a spill will
occur.
Ryder Spill Kit
Notification and Reporting Requirements
Complete all required internal and external notifica-
tions and reports. Use the Facility and Vehicle Spill
Procedure Checklists and the Spill Response
Telephone Guide, posted at your facility, to identify
who must be contacted both at Ryder and in your
state. Additional information on Who, What, Where,
and When to Report Spills is located in the Ryder
Environmental Policy & Control Manual, Procedure
No. 6. 1, Exhibit F.
If XL Specialty Claims Administrators (formerly ECS
Claims Administrators) is handling your spill, all
notifications and reports will be made on your behalf.
If you use a local emergency response company, DO
NOT assume that reports or notifications are provided
for you. You need to complete the telephone and
written reports directly.
2015
Ryder Environmental Awareness 3 '4 -
1,
Spill Prevention Control and
Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans
Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans
for facilities are required by the federal Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA). Facilities are required to
have these plans on-site if they have ABOVE-
GROUND storage container(s) that exceed specific
gallons. These gallon and size requirements were
modified in regulations effective December 2002.
Underground storage containers/tanks are usually
excluded from most of these requirements so long as
they are managed in accordance with tank regulatory
requirements. A facility may be required to imple-
ment an SPCC Plan REGARDLESS of on-site storage
IF the facility has a large spill to a waterway OR if the
facility has two "harmful' spills within a 12 -month period.
Tr'virol''nentnl Ra Fruilitp Service'
SPILL PREVENTION
CONTROL AND
COUNTERMEASURE PLAN
Pr.PveO Nv
R.ytl.ri ryporbtlon 6.Mw.
F.cillly Loc— - 1173
3550 Camm.rna S.W.
rN..11bn, d a.No
R PY Or
'.M.
