Quik Stop Markets
Project No. 349132-41
ll 118181i
August 14, 1990
Page 1
This revised Project Safety Plan delineates the basic safety requirements for the
emergency response, soil excavation, and geological investigation for the facility located
at 3555 W Hammer Lane, Stockton, County of Sacramento, California.
The site is a service station and convience store facility. The underground storage tanks
on the premises contained , gasoline, and diesel fuel. Exceltech Inc.'s work will include
excavation of contaminated soil, possible remediation of the soil, backfilling the
excavation, and geological investigation.
To provide for site security, the site will be blocked off for the duration of the project
This will be accomplished through the use of a 3 -foot high baracde (on the Hammer and
Mariners Street sides). Signs which read "Construction Zone --Authorized Personnel
Only" will be attached to the baracades. In addition, barricades with reflective tape and
battery-operated flashers will be used around the inside.
The provisions set forth in this plan will apply to the employees of Exceltech, Inc. and
its subcontractors working on the project. The subcontractors may elect to modify
these provisions, but only to upgrade or increase the safety requirements, and only with
the concurrence of Exceltech, Inc.as designated and accepted in writing.
This Project Safety Plan addresses the expected potential hazards that may be
encountered during this project. Field activities will begin on July 31, 1990 and are
expected to continue for approximately 3 weeks from the start date. If changes in site
or working conditions occur as the activities progress, amendments to this plan will be
provided by Exceltech, Inc.
Personnel responsible for the project safety are: Eric Kieselbach, Corporate Safety
Officer; Jim Jordan, Fremont Office Safety Coordinator; Randy Stone, Project
Manager; Tom Hicks, Project Supervisor; Tom Hicks, Project Foreman; and John
Monroe, Project Geologist.
