Laboratory Testing
Selected soil and groundwater samples will be submitted to the laboratory for analysis under standard
turn-around time.
• Up to 10 soil samples will be analyzed for Title 22 metals following EPA Test Method
6010/7000.
40 Up to 10 soil and 8 grab-groundwater samples will .be analyzed for total petroleum
hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd)and as motor oil (TPHmo)following EPA Test Method 8015.
• Up to 10 soil and 8 grab-groundwater samples will be analyzed for total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX)
following EPA Test Method 8015/8020.
• Up to 5 soil samples will. be analyzed for organochlorine pesticides following EPA Test
Method 8081 and for herbicides following EPA Test Method 8151. CD
• Up to 5 soil and 4 grab-groundwater samples will be analyzed for VOCs following EPA Test
Method 8260B and for SVOCs following EPA Test Method 8270C.
Upon review of the total metal results,Geocon will advise the City of Tracy regarding.soluble metals
analysis via Waste Extraction Test (WET) and Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP)
methods. At the direction of the City, soluble (WET) metals analysis may be performed on those
samples with total metal concentrations greater than ten times respective STLC values. Soluble
(TCLP) analysis may be performed on those samples with a total metal concentration greater than 20
times respective TCLP values.
The analytical laboratory will perform QA/QC for each method of analysis with specificity for each
analyte listed in the test method's QA/QC. QA/QC will include the following:
One method blank for every ten samples, batch of samples or type of matrix, whichever is more
frequent.
• One sample analyzed in duplicate for every ten samples, batch of samples or type of matrix,
whichever is more frequent.
• One spiked sample for every ten samples, batch of samples or type of matrix, whichever if
more frequent, with spike made at ten times the detection limit or at the analyte level.
Report Preparation
A site investigation report will be prepared summarizing the results of the field activities and laboratory
testing. The report will include but not be limited to the following:
Background summary
Scope of services performed
Observations during the field activities
Results of field activities including laboratory results
Site Plan and Vicinity Map indicating sample locations and project boundaries
Conclusions and recommendations
Appendices including laboratory reports and chain-of-custody documentation
Project No. S8675-06-01 -5- October 16,2003
