Lopez Property (9647-0770) =1
MMMMW
January 1997
Figure 2). This drill hole will be advanced to a depth of 35 feet bgs, and completed as a 2-inch
diameter ground water monitoring well. The monitoring well will be screened from a depth of 25 feet
to -)5 feet bgs. The completed ground water well will be developed and sampled.
Soil samples will be collected at five foot intervals and will be field screened for total petroleum
hydrocarbons by volume using a photoionization detector. A maximum of five soil samples per drill
hole will be selected for chemical analysis by a certified Iaboratory. One soil sample will be collected
for geotechnical analysis.
Task 4 - Chemical Analytical Laboratory Program
A maximum of five soil samples and two ground water samples will be chemically analyzed by
a State of California certified laboratory, for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) and
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes(BTEC.
Task 5- Geotechnical Laboratory Program
To establish aquifer parameters, one soil sample collected from with the aquifer will be
geotechnically analyzed for triaxial permeability in flexible wall permeater by ASTM Standard 5084.
The geotechnical analysis will identify grain size, bulk density, and permeability. This data can be used
for computer modeling in the event a risk assessment is conducted, or can be used as part of a risk
based corrective action program.
Task 6-Report Preparation
Following the completion of Tasks l through 5, Fugro will prepare a technical report
documenting the results of our findings, conclusions, and recommendations as they pertain to the
ground water assessment program.
Cost Estimate.
We propose to provide the services described in Tasks 1 through 6 above on a time and
expense basis. The estimated charges to complete the scope of services discussed herein are not to
exceed S 7,940.70, without your prior authorization. The estimated costs are detailed in the attached
cost estimate breakdown.
Time Schedule
Fugro anticipates that it will require I to 2 weeks to schedule subcontractors, obtain the
encroachment permit and underground utilities clearance. Field activities will require 1 week; chemical
and geotechnical laboratory analysis will require I to 2 weeks; and report preparation will require I
week to complete. The completion of the scope of services is expected to require 4 to 6 weeks from
the receipt of notice to proceed. Incffi=e weather and/or adverse subsurface conditions may delay the
field activities, therefore possibly delaying the anticipated schedule, and increasing costs.
96470770.PH2 3
art-'
