E116�t Site characterization reports for the subject property have been previously sent to the San ' Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board, and the State Water Resources Control Board The reports include the following ' • WATERWORK Report, October 27, 1989, • RAH Environmental Report, January 18, 1995, ' • BSK &Associates, Workplan, June 1995, • Fugro, Results Report, March 1996, and • ENSR, Second Quarter 1997 Groundwater Monitoring Report ' Boring logs are presented in Appendix C ' 50 MASS BALANCE CALCULATIONS 51 Soil ' Based on analytical soil sample results presented in Table 3, the lateral extent of impacted soil is estimated at 1,200 square feet (Figure 7) The vertical extent of the unsaturated soil zone is from 6 feet bgs to 12 feet bgs, and the vertical extent of the saturated soil zone is from 12 feet bgs to 33 feet bgs (Figures 5 and 6) • The estimated mass balance calculation for TPH-g in the unsaturated soil zone is 2 8 lbs , 1• and • The estimated mass balance calculation for TPH-g in the saturated soil zone is 2,081 lbs Mass balance calculations are presented in Appendix B 52 Groundwater Based on analytical groundwater sample results presented in Table 2, the lateral extent of impacted groundwater is estimated at 1,800 square feet (Figure 8) The vertical extent is based on a fluctuating groundwater table of approximately 8 feet (Figure 3) The estimated mass balance calculation for TPH-g in groundwater is <0 0196 lbs Mass balance calculations are presented in Appendix B 60 WATER SUPPLY WELL SEARCH ENSR contacted the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) to conduct a water well search within a 2,000-foot radius of the subject property Well logs of the water well located on the subject property were not identified by the search According to the property owner this well is used for irrigation purposes only Two water wells were identified within the search distance and are described below • Well No 119249 is an irrigation well located approximately 1,800 feet southwest of the I subject property This well was completed in 1978 to a depth of 128 feet bgs According to the well log, a 14-inch diameter steel casing, with no perforations, was installed from 0 to 85 feet No other casing information is provided on the well log The subsurface lithology consists of alternating layers of clay and sand to 120 feet bgs and sand and gravel from 120 to 128 feet bgs I L IENSR18716100218716002 ds2 appb doc 3 11/13/98
