The purpose of this investigation was to ascertain the s <br /> existence and extent of hydrocarbon contamination in the soil and <br /> -- groundwater near,several underground storage tanks. <br /> The monitoring wells were installed under a permit issued by the San <br /> Joaquin Local Health District (SJLHD) (see Appendix A). The SJLHD required <br /> the monitoring well installation after four underground storage tanks were <br /> removed and tests of the surrounding soil and groundwater ravealed local <br /> ALi petroleum hydrocarbon contamination. The monitoring well installations and <br /> soil sampling occurred on August 20 and 21, 1987. Monitoring well <br /> ' development and sampling was conducted on September 9 and 10, 1987. <br />
