.. , rill
w Tri-Valley Growers November 9, 1987
Project No. 1582G Page 2-1
SECTION 2.0
' PREVIQUS WORK
According to information provided to Exceltech by Tri-Valley Growers,
;.; (Tri-Valley Growers letter to Exceltech dated March 18, 1987) previous work
at the Plant T facility consisted of 1) excavating and removing four.
runderground storage tanks adjacent to the forklift shop_ (Figure 2) in late
January and 'early February, 1987, 2) excavating soil around two anter
oma
underground storage tanks on-site (one gasoline and one diesel) 3) :sampling
soil and groundwater from the excavation pits subsequent to tank .removal on
February 4, 1987. During excavation, gasoline odors were detected from the
two pits located near the forklift shop. No odors were detected from the
excavation pits at the other two underground tanks on-site.
,Y
Tables 1 and 2 show the soil and water analytical results from the
previously collected samples.= This data provided to Exceltech by Tri-Valley
Growers indicated local petroleum hydrocarbon contamination near the tanks
adjacent to the forklift shop. The other underground tanks (one gasoline and
one diesel) located elsewhere on-site did not appeared to have leaked. As a
result, the SJLHD did not require monitoring wells to be located adjacent to
them. Appendix C contains copies of the analytical laboratory reports for
samples collected during the excavations.
of
