GEISER
x sWK
NO
a
Tri-Valley Growers November 9, 1987
Project No. 1582G Page 6- 3
CONCL11191QNSAND REQQMMENDATION
Based on chemical data and field observations, groundwater and soil
contamination (as analyzed for TVH, BTX and diesel) was not detected in any
of the three monitoring wells installed. Small amounts of total lead were
detected. In our opinion and judgement, these amounts appear to be
regionally typical levels.
i
It appears that the original tank excavation may have removed a large amount
-- of the contamination. However, groundwater flow direction is toward the
northeast and it is possible the original contamination plume has moved
off-site in that direction.
It is recommended that:
• A monitoring program be implemented and that each well be sampled on a
quarterly basis for TVH, BTX, diesel and total lead. Z
S 3
• A monitoring well be installed in the northaast corner of the property
down gradient of the former tank locations. This well would be used to
@.: look for the presence of any migrating hydrocarbons.
The original stockpiled soil should be aerated to remove any remaining
hydrocarbons However, this process must be reviewed and approved by
the SJLHD and regulatory agencies.
