Analyze selected soil samples and ground
water samples for TPHg and TPHd by 3550/3510 and BTEX by 8020
and Oxygenates by 8260.
• Submit report of findings to SJCEHD.
COMMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
• Elevated TPHd soil and ground water contamination was noted in the
pit at UST removal. No boring is proposed in the pit and the distance
to the proposed perimeter borings is not clear (no scale on map).
Based on phone conversations with you, this investigation phase is
intended as the only phase for fieldwork and is designed to
investigate the lateral extent of contamination only. By not including
a soil and ground water investigation from inside the former pit
location or including a vertical extent investigation, SJCEHD
considers this `one-step' proposal to be inadequate.
• SJCEHD will require one of the proposed soil borings to be placed in
the former UST pit area and it should be advanced to depths
adequate to collect at least two consecutive non-detect soil samples
so that vertical delineation conclusions can be supported.
