INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> tIn accordance with a request from Ripon Farm Service (RFS) and as required by the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) by letter dated 03 <br /> February 1998, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE),has prepared this Corrective Action Plan <br /> (CAP)for 22871 South Highway 99 in Ripon, California The site setting is illustrated in Figure 1 <br /> The layout of the property and locations of wells and soil borings are depicted in Figure 2 <br />' The scope of work was to evaluate the feasibility and cost aspect of several remedial action <br /> alternatives for hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water at the site The CAP was prepared in <br /> accordance with guidelines established by the PHS-EHD and the Central Valley Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for the subsurface investigation of underground storage tank <br /> (UST) sites <br /> 20. BACKGROUND <br /> The site has been operated by Ripon Farm Services for at least 40 years Hydrocarbon fuels were <br />' stored and dispensed at the site for approximately 25 years <br />' 21 SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located in a flat industrial/commercial area in northern Ripon, south of Jack Tone Road <br />' (Figure 1) The site is currently operated by Ripon Farm Service (RFS) A former automotive shop <br /> is located near the northeast corner of the site, an office building and truck scale are located at the <br /> southern comer The surface of the remainder of the site is covered with gravel The Jimco Truck <br />' Stop is located immediately north of the site <br /> 2 2 REGIONAL GEOLOGICAL/HYDROGEOLOGICAL SETTING <br />' The site is situated within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of California, a large, elongate <br /> northwest tending, asymmetric structural trough The Great Valley Province has been filled with <br /> thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent, creating a nearly flat lying <br />' alluvial plain extending from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the Klamath Mountains in the <br /> north The western and eastern boundaries of this province are comprised of the California Coast <br /> Range and the Sierra Nevada, respectively Rocks composing the basement complex of the province <br /> have not been completely defined but are believed to be of metamorphic and igneous origin The <br /> F <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
