' RN/1L M96W MM RAN <br /> 14800 West Frontage Road Manteca,Calffornla <br /> 3.3.2 Air Discharge <br /> Analysis of data collected during the vapor extractionilot test was also used in the <br /> design of the vapor extraction and groundwater treatment system The system has been <br />' designed to meet the anticipated air discharge requirements as follows <br /> Parameter Discharge Concentration <br />' (Single Sample) <br /> TPH <2 50 ppm/volume <br /> BTEX <0 15 ppm/volume <br /> Benzene <0 15 ppm/volume <br />' 3.4 System Descry tion <br /> Figure 8 indicates the proposed location of the groundwater/vapor treatment system <br />' The system consists of Remediation Service International's spray aeration vacuum <br /> extraction system ("S A V E System"), and includes an IC engine, a power take off, a <br />' vacuum pump, air compressor, and a water pump (Figure 9) Figure 10 is a plan view <br /> of the system Figure 11 indicates the trench specifications for the influent and effluent <br /> piping <br />' The air compressor will drive a pneumatic groundwater pump in well MW-4 The pumped <br /> water will be heated by the engine to increase the volatility of dissolved hydrocarbons <br />' The heated water will be sprayed into an aeration tank where the hydrocarbons in the <br /> water are volatilized and drawn into the vacuum stream for consumption by the IC engine <br /> The treated water will be pumped through a flow meter and carbon canisters before being <br /> discharged, via underground piping, to an existing storm sewer Aegis will, on behalf of <br /> Moore Petroleum, Inc , apply for a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit <br /> I Fuel for the system will be provided from the hydrocarbons drawn from the soil, and <br /> supplemented with propane, when necessary, during the first 6 months of operation <br /> Equipment will be located within a 6-foot-high chain-link fenced enclosure with a locking <br /> gate A fire extinguisher and a weather proof document box will be located within the <br /> enclosure (Figure 8) <br /> System controls on the pump include a low-water shut off switch and a high-water start <br /> switch Ports for sampling water are located in the influent and effluent lines Vapor ports <br /> are located in the vapor intake line, before the vacuum pump, and before and after the <br /> catalatic converters <br /> Effluent rates will be monitored by a flow meter and the rate of flow will be controlled by <br /> a valve located on the discharge side of the spray aerator <br /> 90-097A FRP _9_ <br /> I <br />
