PROBLEM ASSESSMENT REPORT <br /> 14890 WEST FRONTAGE ROAD <br /> MANTECA, CALIFORNIA <br /> NGA PROJECT NO. 10-90-479 <br /> 1^O. INTRODUC'T'ION <br /> 1.1 Authorization and Pur ose <br /> Nations Groundwater Associates (NGA) has been authorized by Moore <br /> Petroleum, Inc. to prepare this problem assessment report of Moore <br /> Petroleum's gasoline service station located at 14800 West Frontage <br /> _. Road, Manteca, California, (T.IS, R.7E., Section 28 MDB&M) (Figure <br /> 1) . <br /> The purpose of this report is to present details of investigation <br /> activities at the site completed subsequent to submittal, of the <br /> Preliminary Hydrogeologic_ Assessment Report, evaluate the extent <br /> of petroleum constituents in soil and ground water, and provide <br /> recommendations for remediation plans (if required) for soil and <br /> ground water at the site. <br /> 1.2 ScORe of Work <br /> The scope of work for this . report includes the following <br /> activities: <br /> - O Review of available geologic and hydrogeologic data <br /> pertinent to the site. <br /> ry o Drilling four hollow-stem-auger soil borings to obtain <br /> undisturbed soil samples at 5-foot-depth intervals. Soil . <br /> samples were screened with a photoionization detector <br /> (PID) for total organic vapors. Selected soil samples <br /> were submitted to a California-certified laboratory to <br /> be analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes <br /> (BTEX) ; . 1,2-dichloroethane (EDC) ; ethylene dibromide <br /> (EDB) ; and TPH by EPA method 8260. <br /> s Classify soils encountered in the soil borings according <br /> to the Unified Soil Classification System. <br /> o Completion of each soil boring as a ground-water <br /> �- monitoring well BMW-5, MW-6, MW-7 and MW-8) . <br /> • Sampling of native soils beneath Underground Storage <br /> Tanks (USTs) and installation of the below-ground <br /> components of a soil venting system within the tank <br /> basin. <br />
