Ground-water samples were submitted to a California-certified laboratory and analyzed for BTEX, EDC, EDB, and TPH using EPA method 8260. s Collection of water level elevation data in July and August, 1990. a Preparation of a ground-water contour map depicting the elevation of the ground-water surface at the site in August, 1990. 0 Development of conceptual remediation plans for ground water and soil. 2.0 BACKGROUND INFORMATION 2.1 Site Settintt The site is located at 14800 West Frontage Road in Manteca, California. The site is located in a mixed commercial/residential area of Manteca adjacent to U.S. Highway 99 South. A small (four to five room) apartment house and mobile home are located approximately 50 yards south of the site. The site is bordered on the East by Highway 99 South, on the West by West Frontage Road, and to the North by the on--ramp to Highway 99 South. Site topography slopes gently to the East toward U.S. Highway 99. p There is a maximum of about four feet of topographic relief from West to East across the site. Surface runoff flows to the East across the site to an unpaved easement located between the site and Highway 99. Moore Petroleum, inc. leases the site to Mr. Frank Guinta, Sr. , who operates the site as a retail gasoline station and convenience store. All underground storage tanks ' (USTs) at the site--were.removed and replaced in,November, 1989. The locations of both the new and replaced USTs at the site are shown on Figure 2. Table 1 presents information about the replaced and new tanks.
