Soil samples were collected at 5-foot-depth intervals and screened with a photoionization
detector (PID). The PID readings and field observations were recorded on the soil boring Iogs in
Appendix A. Sample selection for laboratory analysis was based on PID readings and field observations.
Samples were analyzed using EPA Method 8260 for BTEX,EDC, EDB,and TPPH. Laboratory reports
are presented in Appendix B. The results of soil analyses are listed in Table 7. Two samples were
analyzed from SB-3 at 15 and 30 feet below grade. Benzene concentrations in those samples ranged from
0.5 ppm (SB-3-3) to 0.015 ppm (SB-3-6). Benzene concentrations in soil samples from roil boring SB-4
ranged from 0.7 ppm (SB4-3) to 0.054 ppm (SB-4-5). TPPH concentrations ranged from not found (SB-
4-5 and SB-3-6) to a high of 190 ppm (SB-4-3). Laboratory reports for the soil samples are presented in
Appendix B.
TABLE 7
Soil Boring Sample Analytical R;sults
Depth
- Location feet Benzene Toluene Eth ]benzene E.DC EbB Xylenes TPPH
NF,
SB-3-3 15.0 0.5 1.2 08 NF
$.0 78.0
4
SB-3-6 30.0 0.015 0.010 NF NF NF 0.010 NF
S13-4-3 15.0 0.7 4.5 4.2 NF NF 24.0 190
SB 4-3' 13.0 0.7 3.3 3.1 NF NF 1910 150
,., SB-4-5 25.0 0.054 0.012 NF NF NF 0.018 NF
NOTES:
All results are listed in parts per million (ppm).
NF = Not Found.
i '
'Duplicate Analysis,
3.6 Ground GVatet Anel Icsl Results
Soil borings SB-3 and SB-4 were completed-as-monitoring wells MW-3 and MW-4- The total depth of -each well is 46.0 feet and 40.0 feet, respectively. Ground water samples were collected from the four
existing monitoring wells, MW-I, MW-2, MW3, and MW-4. Water samples were analyzed using EPA
i
Method 8260 for BTEX,EDC,EDB,and TPPH. The results of these analyses are presented in Table 8.
Benzene concentrations ranged from a Iow of 1.7 parts per billion (ppb) at monitoring wells MW-2 to a
a, high of 1,400 ppb at monitoring well MW4.
