STATE OF CALIFORNIA—HEALTH AND WELFARE ANCY GEORGE DEUKMEJIAN, Govrrnor
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES .
TOXIC SUBSTANCES CONTROL DIVISION
REGION I ' r
4250 POWER INN ROAD November 30, 198817-j
SACRAMENTO,CA 95826 E"i
(916)739-3145
1963
Robert Davis ,1
22939 N. Sowles Road t
Acampo, CA 95220
Dear Mr. Davis:
RE: PROPERTY LOCATED AT 22832 N. HIGHWAY 99
This is to follow-up our conversation of October 31, 1988
regarding your plans for the property located at 22832 N. Highway
99 in Acampo. During this conversation you indicated your plans
to grade the property and enclose the cement slab.
As agreed, I have reviewed the sample results of the soil
sampling conducted on February 26 , 1988 . The three main
contaminants found were Arsenic, Chromium, and Copper. For your
information, I have enclosed a map of the general sampling
locations and the results of the sampling. It appears that
contamination has occurred in the soil surrounding the pit and
the slab. Several of the levels are high enough to qualify the
soil as a hazardous waste. Because grading will spread this
contamination around the property, the soil within 5 feet of the
pit and cement slab shall not be disturbed during grading.
Please contact me prior to performing the grading so arrangements
may be made to have a Department representative present.
If you have any questions or require additional information
please contact me at (916) 739-3998 .
Sincerely,
i
Elizabeth M.
