for the above mentioned 46 chemicals. A review of these sheets shows that most of these
chemicals are classified as only posing a slight health risk whether ingested, inhaled or in
contact with the skin or eyes. Some chemicals such as HERBIMAX pose virtually no
health risks. Some of these materials do pose great health risks. SEVIN and TEMIK are
fatal when taken internally in amounts of 1/4 pound or 2 ounces respectively. Similarly,
2,4-D may be fatal if taken internally or through contact with the skin. Others such as
DIAZINON 500-AG, DES-I-CATS and DI-SYSTON 8 primarily pose a health risk in
exposure to the skin or through inhalation.
2. The Owner/Operator's best estimate as to the quantities of these chemicals
is that the Site should only contain residues and no significant quantities of any one
chemical. After a review of the handling criteria for these chemicals as listed in the
MSDS, each individual trained in hazardous material handling working at the site shall
select the appropriate personal protective equipment ("PPE") from the equipment supplied
by the Owner/Operator(see W.A. below) as per the requirements of 29 CFR § 1910.120.
4
