(Ground Zero) submits this report to describe the well destruction
procedures for the inactive supply well located at 938 Frontage Rd., Ripon California (Figure 1). A
copy of the RWQCB letter is attached.
The well was installed by Hennings Bro's Drilling Company in 1974. The well was completed to a
depth of 196 feet with 8-5/8" diameter steel casing. In approximately 2002 or 2003 a 6" diameter
PVC liner was installed to a depth between approximately 60 and 80 feet. The well was equipped
with an electric submersible pump. The location of the well is indicated on Figure 2. The California
Department of Water Resources Water Well Drillers Report is attached along with a copy of the
well destruction permit/inspection record issued by the San Joaquin County Envirolunental Health
Department (EHD).
SITE ACTIVITIES
On June 11, 2009, Water Well Technology, Inc. ("WWT", C57 License #731133) destroyed the
inactive supply well. The well was destroyed by perforating the casing with explosives and grouting
with sand/cement slurry. Well destruction was witnessed by Ground Zero personnel and by Ms.
Adrienne Ellsaesser and Ms. Amanda Boretine of EHD.
On June 10, 2009 in preparation for well destruction, WWT removed the submersible pump and
pressure tank and demolished the concrete well pad. The well was sounded to ensure that no
obstructions were present. The total depth of the well was tagged at 188 feet below grade. A hole
was then excavated around the well casing to a depth of 4.5 feet and the casing was cut off 6 inches
G:\GROUNDZE\RIPONFARM\PRODWELL\WelidestructionRept.doc
