Mr. Allan Fetters - 2 - 20 November 2007
analysis for nitrate plus nitrite, which allows the sample to be acidified. The acidification
extends the hold period significantly.
Regional Water Board staff conditionally concur with the Work Plan Addendum subject to the
following conditions:
• Sample location B-5 shall be repositioned near the center of the unpaved eastern portion.
• When asphalt must be penetrated, care shall be taken to position the boring outside of a
topographical depression.
• Surface samples may be analyzed for nitrate-nitrite in order to extend the permissible
storage period.
According to the schedule proposed in the Work Plan Addendum, a letter report describing the
investigation and results could be provided within two months of this letter. Accordingly, we
look forward to seeing the results of the soil reconnaissance investigation, by 25 January
2008.
