Decontamination of soil sampling equipment shall include washing with a solution of TSP, Alconox, <br /> or Liquinox and water followed by a double rinse of deionized water between borings and before <br /> vacating the work area. <br /> 6.2 Respirator Decontamination <br /> Respirator decontamination, if required, shall include a wash with soap and water followed by a clean <br /> water rinse. Respirators shall be thoroughly dried and wiped with a respirator wipe pad (disinfectant) <br /> prior to storage. <br /> 6.3 PPE Decontamination <br /> The Project Manager will determine the necessity and arrange for appropriate decontamination of PPE <br /> on this project. Consumable PPE may be discarded as general refuse. Brush loose dust and soil from <br /> pants and shoes before entering vehicles. <br /> 7.0 EMERGENCY RESPONSE <br /> 7.1 Physical Injury <br /> In the event of an accident resulting in physical injury, call emergency service personnel immediately <br /> and perform first aid commensurate with training and seriousness of the injury. Severely injured <br /> personnel are to be transported only by emergency service personnel and/or by ambulance personnel, <br /> unless a life-threatening condition is judged to exist that must be addressed immediately. <br /> The Project Manager is to be notified by the SSO, as soon after the injury as practical, regarding the <br /> nature of the accident. A written report is also to be prepared and submitted by the SSO to the Project <br /> Manager within 24 hours of the accident.
