Oak Street
Stockton, California 95205
File No.: 77BP.00443.02.0136
Dear Mr. Infurna:
This letter, prepared by Stantec Consulting Corporation (Stantec) on behalf of Atlantic Richfield
Company (ARC), a BP Affiliated Company, presents the monthly status report for October 2008
as described in the Addendum to Interim Remediation Action Plan dated September 10, 2008.
On October 21, 2008 Stratus Environmental, Inc. of Cameron Park, California field staff
observed Belshire Environmental Services, Inc. of Lake Forest, California removed 562 gallons
of water from groundwater monitoring wells MW-1 S, MW-2S, and MW-1 D. MW-1 D ran dry after
35 minutes. Groundwater was extracted form MW-1S and MW-2S during the entire five hour
and 18 minutes the extraction apparatus was running. A total of 562 gallons of water were
extracted from the site. Three quarter inch garden hose was used instead of the standard
stingers due to equipment theft the night prior to the extraction.
The extracted ground water was removed from the site by Nieto and Sons Trucking, Inc. of
Brea, California on October 21, 2008 and delivered to Demenno Kerdoon in Compton, California
on October 25, 2008. The waste manifest is included as Attachment B.
Evaluation of Recovery
Groundwater recovery was lower than anticipated during this event. However, due to potential
rainfall events we anticipate better recovery in the coming months ahead. We request to continue
this interim remedial action approach to monitor and determine how seasonal changes have on
groundwater recovery efforts.
443 Status Report 08-10.doc 1
