J Quik Stop Station No. 76Q April 22,2003
Stockton California Work Plan for Additional Groundwater Investkzation
approximately 28 feet above mean sea level in Section 8, Township 1 North, Range 7 East,
Mount Diablo Baseline and Meridian.
The Quik Stop station facilities, as shown on Figure 2, include a station building in the eastern
portion of the site, two unleaded gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs) located in the
northern portion of the site, and a gasoline dispenser island located in the southwestern
portion of the site. Product piping and dispensers were located over and adjacent to the
former USTs. Fill and turbine ports were situated at the southern ends of the former USTs.
The property east of and adjacent to the site is an &-tive gasoline station located at 4075 East
Main Street. According to the SJCEHD the adjacent site is currently subject to an
environmental investigation. Quarterly groundwater monitoring at the adjacent gasoline
station indicate that groundwater is approximately 64 feet bsg and generally flows south-
southeastward to southeastward under a gradient of approximately 0.001.
BACKGROUND
I
In October 1998, two former gasoline USTs T-1 and T-2, as shown on Figure 2, were
excavated and removed from the site. Product lines and dispensers located above and
adjacent to the USTs were also removed. Horizon documented the UST removals, and soil
analytical results in Tank Closure Report dated February 8, 1999.
The UST basin was excavated to a depth of 12 feet below surface grade (bsg). Five soil
samples were collected from beneath the former USTs at depths of 14 to 16 feet bsg. at the
locations shown on the figure contained in Appendix B. Tabulated analytical results of soil
samples collected from the former UST basin are contained in Appendix B.
The SJCEHD requested a soil and groundwater investigation in September 2001, and in
December 2001 approved the Work Plan for Soil and Groundwater Investigation dated
November 12, 2001 prepared by Horizon. In May 2002, three soil borings (SB-1 through SB-
7076wp4-03.doc
Project No,7076.14 2 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC.
