f Quik Stop Station No. 41) April 22,2003 <br /> Stockton,California Work Plan for Additional Groundwater Investigation <br /> Task I Schedule a C-57 licensed drilling contractor to provide drilling and monitoring <br /> well installation services; obtain required well permit from the SJCEHD; <br /> prepare a Site Health and Safety Plan; and notify Underground Service Alert <br /> (USA) to identify and locate underground utilities in the site area. <br /> Task 2 Drill and install one monitoring well (MW-1) at the location shown on Figure 2. <br /> Record sampling information, field screening and soil description data, and well <br /> construction details on soil boring logs during drilling and well installation. <br /> Describe soils using the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS). Collect <br /> r <br /> soil samples at 5-foot intervals with a split spoon sampler. Field screen soil <br /> samples for the presence of volatile hydrocarbons with a photo-ionization <br /> detector (PID) or equivalent device. Stockpile drill cuttings at the site on and <br /> covered with visqueen. Collect four representative samples of the drill cuttings <br /> stockpile for characterization and disposal purposes. <br /> Advance the monitoring well MW-1 boring to 75 feet bsg. Construct the <br /> monitoring well utilizing 2-inch inside diameter (ID), flush-threaded, Schedule <br /> 40, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) casing and 2-inch ID, PVC, 0.020-inch slotted <br /> well screen. Set the well screen over the interval 55 to 75 feet bsg. Place #3 <br /> filter pack sand in the annulus to approximately two feet above the screened <br /> interval. Place a two to three-foot thick bentonite filter seal on top of the filter <br /> pack. Place neat cement sanitary seal in the remaining annular space. A typical <br /> monitoring well construction diagram is contained Appendix C. <br /> Task 3 Develop and sample monitoring well MW-1 according to Horizon Field <br /> Methods and Procedures. Survey the top-of-casing (TOC) elevation of the new <br /> monitoring well to GeoTracker specifications. <br /> Task 4 Submit selected soil samples from the soil boring, the four soil stockpile <br /> samples and the groundwater sample, under COC documentation, to a state- <br /> 7076wp4-03.doc <br /> Project No.7076.14 4 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. <br />
