Quik Stop Station No 079 June 20, 2002 Turlock, California Results of Additional Groundwater Assessment • BACKGROUND In October 1998, two former gasoline USTs (T-1 and T-2) were excavated and removed from the site as shown on Figure 2 Product lines and dispensers located above and adjacent to the USTs were removed during excavation of the USTs The UST basin was completely excavated to a depth of 12 feet below surface grade (bsg) Five soil samples were collected from beneath the former USTs at depths of 14 to 16 feet bsg at the locations shown on Figure 2 Horizon documented the UST removals, and soil analytical results in Tank Closure Report dated 8 February 1999 A table of soil analytical results is contained in Appendix B Soil analytical results indicated concentrations of ethylbenzene, xylenes and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) in the 14 and 16-foot deep soil samples (T-1-S-14 and T-1-S-16) collected from beneath the southern end of UST T-1 No gasoline constituents were reported in the soil samples collected from beneath the north end of UST T-1 or beneath UST T-2 • SOIL AND GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION The purpose of the investigation was to evaluate the vertical and lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater Site fieldwork included advancement of three soil borings and collection of hydropunch groundwater samples All fieldwork was conducted in accordance with Horizon Field Methods and Procedures contained in Appendix B Mitchell Drilling Environmental (C57-license No 672617) of Rancho Cordova, California was retained to provide drilling and sampling services Horizon obtained well permit No 0029309 from the SJCEHD (Appendix C) to allow the advancement of the soil borings Underground Service Alert (USA) was notified to locate and mark underground utilities adjacent to the site o79rpt6-02 3 Project No 7079 13 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL
