Quik Stop Station No 079 June 20, 2002 <br /> Turlock, California Results of Additional Groundwater Assessment <br /> • BACKGROUND <br /> In October 1998, two former gasoline USTs (T-1 and T-2) were excavated and removed <br /> from the site as shown on Figure 2 Product lines and dispensers located above and adjacent <br /> to the USTs were removed during excavation of the USTs The UST basin was completely <br /> excavated to a depth of 12 feet below surface grade (bsg) Five soil samples were collected <br /> from beneath the former USTs at depths of 14 to 16 feet bsg at the locations shown on <br /> Figure 2 Horizon documented the UST removals, and soil analytical results in Tank <br /> Closure Report dated 8 February 1999 <br /> A table of soil analytical results is contained in Appendix B Soil analytical results indicated <br /> concentrations of ethylbenzene, xylenes and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) in the 14 and <br /> 16-foot deep soil samples (T-1-S-14 and T-1-S-16) collected from beneath the southern end <br /> of UST T-1 No gasoline constituents were reported in the soil samples collected from <br /> beneath the north end of UST T-1 or beneath UST T-2 <br /> • <br /> SOIL AND GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION <br /> The purpose of the investigation was to evaluate the vertical and lateral extent of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater Site fieldwork included advancement of three soil <br /> borings and collection of hydropunch groundwater samples All fieldwork was conducted in <br /> accordance with Horizon Field Methods and Procedures contained in Appendix B <br /> Mitchell Drilling Environmental (C57-license No 672617) of Rancho Cordova, California <br /> was retained to provide drilling and sampling services Horizon obtained well permit No <br /> 0029309 from the SJCEHD (Appendix C) to allow the advancement of the soil borings <br /> Underground Service Alert (USA) was notified to locate and mark underground utilities <br /> adjacent to the site <br /> o79rpt6-02 <br /> 3 <br /> Project No 7079 13 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL <br />
