Quarterly Monitoring and Sensitive Receptor Survey Report Canepa's Car Wash(Park Street) ' November 5,2001 Page 8 ' 6 7 SITE RECONNAISSANCE A site reconnaissance within a 500-foot radius of the site was conducted on foot and via automobile The ' study area generally consists of older homes, apartments, commercial buildings, and lots One potential sensitive receptor (RI in Figure 9, Appendix A) was identified within the 500-foot radius No wells, either documented by DWR or undocumented, were found within the 500-foot radius during the site ' reconnaissance 7.0 RECOMMENDATIONS ' A work plan describing the recommended installation of four additional monitor wells (MW-8 through MW-11) was prepared and submitted to the PHS/EHD in November 1998 In a letter dated September 7, 2001, however, Mr Jeffrey Wong of the PHS/EHD requested that an additional work plan be submitted ' by October 20, 2001 to define the lateral and vertical extent of groundwater contamination and the vertical extent of soil contamination at the site In response to Mr Wong's request, Condor submitted the Work Plan for Additional Soil and Groundwater Investigation, dated October 17, 2001 The work plan ' describes several proposed direct push borings intended to investigate the lateral and vertical extent of contamination and assist in the siting of additional monitor wells in a subsequent phase of work, if necessary Mr Wong subsequently approved the work plan, with modifications, in a letter dated October ' 29, 2001 The proposed work is scheduled for December 2001 pending pre-approval of the project costs by the Underground Storage Tank Clean-up Fund ' 8.0 LIMITATIONS Condor developed the interpretations and conclusions presented herein in accordance with generally ' accepted principles and practice Conclusions presented in this report are professional opinions based on limited information obtained at the time of our site visits Condor has endeavored to determine as much as practical about the site using conventional practices given our scope of services Condor makes no representation as to the subsurface conditions at locations or times other than those sampled by our ' employees and reported in this document If any changes are made or errors found in the information utilized in this report, the interpretations and conclusions contained herein shall not be considered valid unless the changes are reviewed by Condor and either appropriately modified or re-approved in writing IThis report was prepared by Condor under the direct supervision of a Registered Geologist in the State of California Any questions regarding the content of this document should be addressed to Don Kresse at I (209)284-0518 Respectfully submitted, ' CONDOR EARTH TECHNOLOGIES, INC F.
