MONITORING AND SAMPLING PROCEDURES
All monitoring and sampling activities performed for this site during the second quarter of 2006
were overseen by Stratus and reviewed and certified by a Stratus California Professional
Geologist Stratus Groundwater Sampling Data Package which Is Included as Attachment B
GROUNDWATER SAMPLE ANALYSES
Groundwater samples collected from each well were submitted to TestAmenca Analytical
Testing Corporation (TestAmerica) for analysis of GRO, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene,
xylenes (BTEX), MtBE, tert-Amyl methyl ether (TAME), dl-Isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary
butyl ether (EtBE), tert-butyl alcohol (TBA), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), 1,2-dlbromoethane
(EDB), and ethanol by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 8260B Results of the
quarterly monitoring and sampling event are discussed below
GROUNDWATER SAMPLE RESULTS AND DISTRIBUTION
Shallow Water Bearing Zone
During the second quarter 2006 monitoring event, GRO and benzene were reported in wells
MW-4 and VW-3 The highest concentrations of GRO (940,000 pg/L) and benzene (28,000
pg/L) were reported in well MW-4 MTBE, TBA, TAME, DIPE, ETBE, EDB, 1,2-DCA, and
ethanol were not reported in any of the upper zone wells Analytical results for the second
quarter 2006 are generally consistent with previous quarters
Deep Water Bearing Zone
At the time of the second quarter 2006 monitoring event, GRO and benzene were reported in
wells MW-9, MW-10, MW-12, MW-16, MW-17, and MW-18 The highest concentrations of GRO
(110,000 lag/L) and benzene (28,000 pg/L) were reported in well MW-1 MTBE, TAME, DIPE,
ETBE, or ethanol was not reported In any of the deep zone wells Analytical results for the
second quarter 2006 are generally consistent with previous quarters
Domestic Well
MTBE, TBA, TAME, DIPE, ETBE, EDB, 1,2-DCA, or ethanol were not reported above stated
laboratory method reporting limits reporting (MRLs) In DW-1 GRO was detected with a
concentration of 75 pg/L, xylenes were detected with a concentration of 51 pg/L, and
ethylbenzene were detected with a concentration of 0 96 pg/L Following these detections, the
domestic well was resampled and the resample results were non-detect for all petroleum
hydrocarbons In addition, the domestic well will be sampled monthly to confirm the absence of
petroleum hydrocarbon compounds These analytical results for the second quarter 2006 are
consistent with historical data
