Page 5 <br /> REMEDIAL PERFORMANCE SUMMARY <br /> A summary of the remediation system O&M data, results of vapor monitoring, and an evaluation <br /> of the effectiveness of the SVE system is presented below <br /> SVE System Description and Operation <br /> The SVE system consists of a 40-hp liquid-ring pump, which routes extracted soil vapor from up <br /> to nine SVE wells (VW-1, VW-3, VW-4, VW-8, VW-14, MW-2, MW-4, MW-8, and MW-9) through <br /> a vapor-liquid separator and a Solleco Equipment, Inc 500 scfm thermal catalytic oxidizer <br /> In April 2006 the system vapor intake manifold was re-plumbed With this exception, only routine <br /> O&M, compliance sample collection, and field parameter measurement collection occurred during <br /> April, May, and June 2006 <br /> SVE System Monitoring <br /> In order to monitor the effectiveness of the SVE system, and ensure permit compliance, influent <br /> and effluent air samples are collected monthly During the second quarter 2006, vapor samples <br /> were collected from the total system influent, the oxidizer chamber influent, and the system <br /> exhaust on April 4, May 2, and June 6, 2006 The air samples were analyzed by Severn Trent <br /> Laboratories, Inc (STL) for GRO, BTEX, and MtBE using EPA Method 8260B <br /> Evaluation of the SVE System Performance <br /> The SVE system removed approximately 10,416 lbs of GRO and 128 lbs of benzene from the <br /> subsurface between March 1 and June 6, 2006 MtBE was not detected in the influent or the <br /> effluent vapor samples during the second quarter 2006 The current SVE system has removed <br /> approximately 78,378 pounds of GRO and 789 pounds of benzene since it began operation in <br /> May 2005 The previous system removed approximately 9,625 pounds of GRO from March <br /> 2004 to November 2004 The mass of benzene removed by the previous system 1s not known <br /> i <br /> 1 IBP-ARC0104 BP Valley Portfolio161001ReportsNQMRs16100 2Q2006 doc SECOR International incorporated <br />
