Jul . 5 . 2001 2 : 14PM CONDOR EARTH TECHNOLOGIES NO . 5550 P . 3 / 3
On 6/25/91 I went to the site to determine if the SVE was operational in preparation for an expected approval
for a full startup-
The area was overgrown with weeds that should be removed The system would not strut because limits were
not complete. The process blower and motor were not functioning. The blower was stuck but the motor
would tuni weakly with the belts removed. The blower was removed and it was determined that the impellers
were rusted together. The impellers were freed with a liberal application of liquid wmnob and a screwdriver.
After reinstallation, it was found that the motor was not able to move with the drivebelts in place. The wiring
was burnt inside the capacitor housing and the capacitors have been damaged, This is a re Occurring problem.
On 6/26/01 an electrician from Stagg Electrical visited the she. He determined that the wiring used by the
manufacturer was minimally sufficient for die motor, that moisture has accumulated in die capacitor housing,
and that the motor did not have adequate horsepower to operate the blower. He recommended that the motor
be replaced with a 10hp model and be rewired with heavier gauge wire, and the starter heaters replaced to
match the new configuration. He will provide Condor with an estimate in 1 -2 days.
A cover should be constructed to protect the motor and controls. A small roof would protect the equipment
from over heating in direct sunlight and damage due to moisture.
